Maxine’s Monthly Round-Up: Going to the House of Lords, Charity Bag Drops and More!

5 mins By Maxine Laceby By Maxine

My oh my, it has been a busy month here at AC and I cannot wait to tell you all about it! I’ve had some real pinch me moments, some of which I will cherish forever so keep reading to find out all that has been happening!

Awards and Events

I am so pleased to announce that Darcy and I won a Great British Entrepreneur Award! It is such an honour to have won and to have Darcy by my side is everything to me! Getting to stand on that stage as mother and daughter is a feeling we will never get used to! I’m so grateful for the opportunities we have had, every success is a real pinch me moment, one I will never take for granted.

Darcy and I were lucky enough to be invited to The House Of Commons by the amazing Coral Horn and Elizabeth Beckford from the Pink Link Ladies. We had a private tour and heard from Sir Lindsay about his role as the Speaker for The House Of Commons. It sure was a room full of the most inspirational women and an experience I will cherish forever.

I then headed over to the CEW Achiever Awards. This is always a night I love, celebrating some amazing people in the beauty industry. And it was a pleasure to see so many familiar faces. As you may all know, winning a CEW award back in 2019 was a real turning point for Absolute Collagen so I will forever be a big supporter of them!

House of Lords

This month started off to be incredibly exciting. Little old me was invited to talk at the Natwest MP HERoes Celebration Roundtable at the House of Lords. Something I never thought I would hear myself say! Natwest has been such an instrumental part in the growth of Absolute Collagen, so to be invited to share my story was such an honour. It was incredible to meet such inspirational women, women I will never forget.

Charity Bag Drop

The AC team have been busy packing bags for the Birmingham Children’s Hospital. As you all know, the hospital is local to AC HQ and is so close to our hearts. We have a duty to support and these care bags we offer truly help the parents of the children who are in the hospital. This will be our third bag drop and we hope to do many more in the future. These bags get handed out as part of the ‘Packs for Parents’ scheme ensuring that parents are provided with the basics needed for when they are staying overnight with their child. If we can make a difference just to one person, it is totally worth it. I’m always so proud to see the team at AC come together to make it happen for those in need.

Victoria Jeffs

We had the incredible Victoria Jeffs come to AC HQ before she heads off to Gran Canaria to row the Atlantic Ocean! We had such a fabulous day, she gave the whole team a motivational talk of which we were all in awe of, we filmed some fab content before heading off to a lovely lunch in Birmingham. We are lucky enough to be sponsoring Victoria on her journey and she couldn’t be a better example of reaching your Absolute Possibility at any age.

Victoria, you’re amazing and we will see you at the finish line! 💛

That’s all for this month but it doesn’t stop there! Watch this space for next month as we have some exciting things happening at AC! Speak to you all soon 💛
